The Humane Society/SPCA is happy to be hosting our first For The Love of Animals Expo.  The event will include entertainment, prizes and auctions as well as pet adoption opportunities, making for a fun and exciting day (no charge to attend)! The For the Love of Animals Expo will showcase many regional animal rescues and shelters along with our own adoptable animals to help connect loving adopters with great pets of all kinds.  Entertainment will be provided by Scooter the DJ and Disc-Connected K-9s, the World Famous Frisbee dogs.  This event will go for the whole day and will include a number of vendors, making it a big event with broad appeal to pet owners and animal lovers of all kinds.

The popular Strut Your Mutt Charity Dog Walk will be a part of the For The Love of Animals Expo.  It will provide dog owners the opportunity to stay healthy and active by walking their dog(s) and there will be limited opportunities for those who apply in advance to walk the Humane Society/SPCA’s adoptable dogs.   All dogs participating in Strut Your Mutt or visiting the For The Love of Animals Expo must be on a leash at all times, have proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination and be friendly to other dogs. Last year’s Strut Your Mutt was a huge success, raising over $50,000 to support the Humane Society/SPCA.  This year we are looking forward to an even bigger event and an even bigger success.

Our Special Guest this year will be Derrick Campana.  Derrick has a popular show on Animal Planet and is internationally known for his work designing prostheses for all kinds of injured animals, giving them a new lease on life.  Come and hear him speak about his interesting and important work.

The For The Love of Animals Expo will take place on Saturday, March 30th from 9 am – 5 pm at the Wildwood Community Center, 6500 Powell Road, Wildwood, FL, adjacent to The Villages community.  This family-oriented event is an opportunity for animal owners and those who may be looking for a new pet to have a full day of entertainment and an opportunity to pick up animal information and information about the community and local businesses. There is no charge to attend the event.
