The Humane Society/SPCA is happy to be hosting the 5th annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Walk. This year this popular event will be a vital part of our new For the Love of Animals Expo. The combined event will include entertainment, prizes and auctions as well as pet adoption opportunities, making for a fun and exciting day!
The Strut Your Mutt component will allow dog owners the opportunity to stay healthy and active by spending some time walking their dog(s) on our marked track. There will also be limited opportunities for those who apply in advance to walk the Humane Society/SPCA’s adoptable dogs. The main group of dogs will start off the walk together at 10 am and the track will remain available for more strutting until 2 pm. All dogs participating in Strut Your Mutt or visiting the For The Love of Animals Expo must be on a leash at all times, have proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination and be friendly to other dogs. Last year’s Strut Your Mutt was a huge success, raising over $50,000 to support the Humane Society/SPCA. This year we are looking forward to an even a bigger success.
Our Special Guest this year will be Derrick Campana. Derrick is internationally known for his work designing prostheses for all kinds of injured animals, giving them a new lease on life. Derrick has a local connection: you can read about his recent visit to his parents in The Villages here: Villages-News
Derrick’s participation in the 5th Annual Strut Your Mutt Event is a rare opportunity and we are thrilled to have him at the event!
The event will take place on March 30th from 9 am – 5 pm at the Wildwood Community Center, 6500 Powell Road, Wildwood, FL.
